Only in Kindergarten
So I picked Jaden up from school and as always we were getting ready to cross the street. But before the cross guard gave us the signal to cross, Jaden leaned over to me and says, "Mom can you wait here while I cross the street with the kids." First of all, Jaden didn't even know the group of the kids that were crossing the street, and secondly when was it not cool for me to cross the street with him and the rest of the kids. So my response to his question was, "Uh, no I'm going to cross the street with you." Well while we were crossing he made sure that he was several steps in front of me almost trying to camouflage himself among the other kids that were also crossing the street. During this time I was thinking to myself. Does he not want to cross the street with me because I'm in my sweats and my hair is pulled back, no makeup, just looking like I have been lounging around the house all day? I kept thinking my Jaden is only in Kindergarten and I'm a cool mom why wouldn't he want to cross the street with me like he always does. This incident took me by surprise. I'm holding on to his youth and hope that this question will not come again any time soon.

Owen's First Year Pictures
Well we finally got Owen's first year pictures taken at Picture People. I'm a little behind getting his picture professionally taken due to the holidays. I try to get the kids pictures taken every 3 months up until they turn one. His birthday was November 3, so I'm not that far behind schedule. Luckily I was on top of his 1 year old birthday party. We had a great birthday bash for him. Thank you everyone that came to celebrate this great day.
Owen is now walking everywhere. While we were visiting family in Utah for Christmas he decided that he liked walking rather than crawling. He's now our big boy, and is running all over the place. He loves to chase after his brother.
And now here is Owen walking. The photographer got some great action shots of Owen. Not that it was planned that way. She didn't have any choice but to snap at his every move since he didn't want to stay still. Oh well, action shots are just as good as still shots. Plus, him not wanting to stay still is part of his personality.

This is Owen just a couple weeks old in November 2006, with his brother Jaden.
And then here is Owen and Jaden together last year in February 2007. BROTHERLY LOVE....

We love you Owen and you are a great addition to our family. Your brother loves you very much, and enjoys your happy personality and enjoys wrestling with you. Mom and dad love your kisses and hugs and your cute dimples when you smile.

My First Blog
So I'm finally doing it. After friends and family telling me that I should blog, and after reading alot of my friends blogs over the holiday I really felt that I should get in with the times and start one also. Hopefully my blog is as inspiring, funny, and informative as many of yours are.
Over the Christmas break we went to Utah and spent time with Jake's and Laura's family. We weren't use to the cold but we seemed to manage. Here is a picture of Jaden all bundled up ready to play in the snow. Can you tell we are Californians? During our stay in Utah we dressed more like we were visiting Antarctica.
We were fortunate enough to spend one of our days at Alta Ski resort. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as good as we planned, but we still got a few runs in. Posted are a couple of pictures of our ski day.
For those that don't know, our oldest turned 6 on December 19th. Jake's mom was thoughtful and threw Jaden a great birthday party during our visit. Cousins, aunts, and uncles all came over to celebrate this exciting day. I can't believe my Jaden is already 6. Where does the time go? Here is a great picture of my boy posing in front of the camera with me. What a cutie he is.
Well this blogging session is coming to an end. We appreciated being with the family and hope to see everyone sooner than later.

I also had a great time spending time with my sister Maria in Utah. She's been away for the
last 3 years so it was nice being with her in Utah and she was a great helper in navigating us
through the snowstorm as we were trying to make our way to our Uncles on Christmas Eve. It was during this snowy drive that Maria and I both were thinking how nice it is to live in California where it only snows in the Mountains.
