Mt. Baldy hike and fishing

Easter weekend Papa planned a hike and fishing trip that included Dawn's family, Peter's family, and our family. We all made it to the waterfall and everyone who fished caught a fish. We came home that day and BBQ the fish for fish tacos.

Jumping Jacks

Friday night we went to a birthday party at Jumping Jacks. It was a lot of fun. Jaden and Owen had a blast going down the slides and jumping in the big air filled trampolines. It was a great place to have a party for both adults and kids. Jake and I had fun jumping and sliding as well. Had to keep up with the kids and all. Glad to know that we still had it in us to climb around.

Easter's on its way

Our boys in their Easter outfits. I just love dressing them alike. I know I won't be able to do it much longer. But I'm taking advantage while I can.

I saw these bunny ears at Target and I had Owen try them on at the store. Once I saw what they looked like on him I couldn't resist buying them. So here we are in the Easter spirit. Hippity Hoppity.

Owen daily

Everywhere I turn I am always picking up a huge mess that Owen has seem to make. This is pretty much the level of messes that I pick up on a daily basis.

HOWEVER, it's pictures and times like this that make all the messes in the world okay.

Jaden's always making me laugh

So I asked Jaden if he would watch his brother for me while I hurry and get something done. His reply, "I will watch him but I won't babysit him." I asked Jaden what the difference is between watching and babysitting. His reply, "Babysitting you change diapers."

Exceptional

My beautiful, talented, creative sister Maria is an exceptional artist. She does a great job on portraits, both black and white and color. It's amazing to see her work. Anyhow she has finished this picture for Jaden who was Peter Pan for Halloween in 2007. It was so great, that I had to show off her work. She's amazing!!!! Anyhow, if anyone is ever interested in having a drawing done she can pretty much do anything you like.

Home Sick

Jaden is home sick today with a nose, throat, and ear infection. Of course he still wants to go to school (which is probably where he got the infection), but under no circumstances will he be going anywhere for the next couple of days. Hopefully the antibiotic will kick in soon so that he is well for his Grandma and Grandpa Luce's visit this weekend. I came across these cute pictures of Jaden checking Owen's vital signs with the doctor kit he got for Christmas from his Auntie Dawn. Great Kodak moment.

Lose Screws

This picture of Owen describes us all at Target.

In all sense of the word I do at times have a few lose screws (hence our blog title). I made a shopping trip to Target with both of the boys and of course the shopping took longer than if I was alone. During check out Jaden was begging for a slurpy, candy, gum (pretty much anything in his eyes view) and Owen was whiny so I tried giving him his sippy cup, and snacks to hold him over. Mind you at the same time I was:

  • Telling Jaden "No, no, no." to everything he was holding up and wanting me to buy for him.
  • I was trying to see all the scanned items going through the check out stand making sure the price was the amount I was anticipating.
  • Trying to get my money ready to pay for the items being checked out.
Needless to say I was multi-tasking as always. By the time I paid for my merchandise I was ALL flustered and irritated. I paid for my items and jetted out of the Target doors. Of course during all the hustling and bustling I left my purchased items at the store. Where is my mind? Whoever pays for something and forgets to walk out of the store with it? More times than not I would rather shop without the kids but better to leave my purchased items behind than one of my boys........

Owen our cutie patutie

Owen has really progressed in a lot of areas within the past week and I wanted to post those things since they have really brought joy to me and my hubby. We just love this stage and we are amazed at how much a 16 month old really understands and how quickly Owen learns and repeats.
  • When we ask Owen, "Where's your belly?" He lifts up his shirt and touches his tummy.
  • When Owen has his shoes on we ask, "Where's your shoes." He'll squat down and point to his shoes on his feet.
  • Owen has mastered the straw, and of course he quickly caught onto this straw mastery while holding onto a shake from In-N-Out with the death grip.
  • We love to blow kisses to Owen and he likes to do it back, although rather than kissing his hand and blowing back a kiss he'll rattle his lips with his fingers and make lots of noise.
  • We have recently been singing the "itsy bitsy spider" to Owen and he has a book that has the words with pictures. Whenever we start singing this nursery rhyme he has to go get the book and make noises along with us as if he's saying the words too.

We love our cutie patutie, and we especially love him when he gets his naps in and gets to bed on time.
